On 22 September 2022, men walk past a cow carcass in the dry plains of Marsabit county in northern Kenya. Many pastoralists in region have lost their livestock due to the severe drought. 
Gumatho, a community health volunteer (CHV) in Korr, Northern Kenya, heads to a medical center with her daughter, Esther to provide new data to the doctors. She helps monitor the health status of children in her community and ensures that they are enrolled for supplementary feeding if they are malnourished.
